In the tradition of Thr3e comes the most twisting, unpredictable Ted Dekker novel yet... a story of revenge with a shocking premise and numerous reversals. A radically countercultural story, Skin asks the question "What is beauty?" Far more than a philosophical question it's a matter of life and death when a serial killer blazes into Summerville, Nevada. What makes the beautiful ugly and the ugly beautiful? The answer will shock- and haunt- you long after the last page of Skin.Skin is also part of a very unusual and somewhat confusing series of books. Last year, I read Dekker's Lost Books series. I was so surprised when I started reading Skin and came across references to The Horde, the villains in the Lost Books. Looking back, I realize that there were references to Summerville in the Lost Books as well. These books are all tied together in random ways. The Lost Books (6 books), The Circle Series (4 books), The Paradise Novels (3 books), and three other books all make up the The Books of History Chronicles. I'm still confused as to how they all fit together and what order you're supposed to read them in, but I can tell you that it is completely worthwhile to read these books. They are addicting to say the least. I absolutely couldn't put any of them down, and I am planning to read the rest of the books in the Books of History Chronicles.
